The Story

I used to see womanhood through rose-coloured glasses, shaped by fairytales and the promise of a happily ever after. As a child, I imagined a story where a prince would sweep me off my feet, and life would fall neatly into place. For a time, I carried those beliefs with me, convinced that love and rescue sat at the centre of a woman’s story.
Life gently challenged that narrative.
When my Dad passed, I watched my Mom lead our household with quiet strength and unwavering independence. She showed me that resilience is not about never feeling weak, but about choosing to move forward despite it. From her, I learned early that happiness and fulfilment are not things another person hands you. They are built, intentionally, by your own hands.
As I grew older, those rose-coloured lenses faded. I became more aware of the realities of womanhood and of the world we live in, layered with contradiction and complexity. Empowerment, I realised, is not about waiting to be saved. It is also not about diminishing others in return. It is about balance. It is about dignity, fairness, and mutual respect. Values that still matter, even when they feel unfashionable.
The Modern Day Damsel is my reclamation of that original story.
She may be emotional. She may cry. She may ask for help.
But she does not wait for rescue, and she does not require permission to feel whole.
She is aware. She is grounded. She is writing her own narrative, honouring who she once was while standing firmly in who she has become.
That story has led me here.
Married to a man who walks beside me, not ahead of me. He is my partner, my teammate, and my best friend. Not a saviour, but a steady presence. With him, I have found not rescue, but reciprocity. A shared life built on respect, independence, and choice.
The Practice

While The Modern Day Damsel began as a personal reclamation of story, it has evolved into a professional practice rooted in narrative clarity and strategic communication.
I am a multimedia storyteller and content strategist based in Bangkok, Thailand, creating narratives that connect people, places, and ideas.
My work spans digital strategy, podcast production, event storytelling, and long-form editorial. I develop and shape conversations across industries including real estate, luxury travel, sustainability, and emerging technology, translating complex themes into narratives that resonate across digital and live platforms.
Over the years, I have led multimedia content development for high-profile events, thought-leadership initiatives, and industry podcasts. My experience includes scriptwriting, moderating and interviewing senior leaders, producing audio and video podcasts, and crafting editorial features that elevate both brand and voice.
Earlier in my career, I worked in digital marketing as a copywriter and editor, creating SEO-driven web content, campaign narratives, and brand storytelling assets across sectors including technology, healthcare, retail, and beauty.
Beyond professional work, travel continues to shape my creative lens. Exploring destinations across Asia and beyond informs the way I observe people, culture, and the built environment, and how I tell their stories.
